Poland: Updated PKD 2025 Business Activity Classification
As of 1 January 2025, Poland implemented a new Polish Classification of Business Activities (PKD 2025), replacing PKD 2007. The change harmonises local classifications with the EU’s NACE system and introduces updated categories reflecting new economic areas such as the digital, circular and bio‑economy. The requirement applies to entrepreneurs registered in the National Court Register (KRS) and the Central Registration and Information on Business (CEIDG), including Polish companies. Entities must update their registered business activity codes to align with PKD 2025. Updates should be completed by 31 December 2026.
Key changes and requirements
PKD 2025 introduces new activity codes, adjusts existing classifications and does not follow a direct one‑to‑one conversion from PKD 2007. Companies must review their current PKD codes—both those listed in the articles of association and those registered with the KRS - and confirm their proposed PKD 2025 codes.
Depending on their proposed activity codes and entity type, companies may be required to update their articles of association and submit a motion to the KRS to register the updated PKD 2025 codes.
